Website Design Elements

There are many elements which go into the creation of a website and all of these elements must work together to define a unified whole. Below we have listed several of the elements which may be required for your website...

Look & Feel

  • Graphics Design - Our graphics artists work with you to develop the look and feel that conveys the image of your company that you want to project.
  • Flash Animation - Flash animation (such at the moving text at the top of this page) can add a heightened level of interest to the page to draw the viewer's attention.
  • Java and Java Script - This technology can add enhanced functionality to the page as well as creating visual appeal. The effect on this page of the menu and tabs changing color when you move your mouse over them is done using Java Script.
  • Style Sheets - The latest browsers support style sheets. If you have one of these browsers, you will notice that the hyperlinked text has a mouse-over effect which is created using style sheets. If you do not have a new-version browser, then you will see normal links.
  • Streaming Media - If you have audio or video clips to be played on your site then you will require streaming audio/video. We can prepare the proper web-based streaming files from your source content.

Depth of Content

  • Navigation - When your site contains many pages, providing a good way for your users to quickly find and view the pages is important. A good navigational scheme is important.
  • Dynamic Pages - When the number of products you are displaying is large, it may make sense for the pages to be dynamically built, pulling the information for each item from a database to populate a template page instead of building each product page individually.
  • Scanning - We have the tools necessary to convert your catalog pages or other text and photographs into web-based content for your website, or we can work from your digital files in nearly any format.

Programming

  • Database - Many sites require a database to hold product information, orders, or other information. We are highly proficient in database design and programming for web use.
  • User-Administered Pages - Sometimes there are pages which change frequently (jobs available, daily specials, etc) where it would be inconvenient or costly to have the web designer make constant changes. We can design pages which are user-changeable allowing you to log in to a special web page with your username and password. From there you can update the page contents yourself, with no particular experience in web design required.
  • Custom Functions -You may have a task which you want the website to do which is unique to your business. We can develop those web-based applications and integrate them into your site and business flow.
