WebPG Announces New Nationwide Internet Access SystemFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASERedondo Beach, California, September 21, 2001 - The Web Presence Group (WebPG, Inc) has greatly expanded its Internet Access services today with the launch of its nationwide dial-up service. The new system uses the wide-ranging network of access points from UUnet, Qwest, and others, to provide over 5,000 local access phone numbers throughout the USA. This expansion of capability means a huge increase in the potential customer base of WebPG. Previously, only Los Angeles and Orange counties were within the local dial area, and now this has expanded to include the rest of California plus 48 other states (no service to Alaska, yet) and portions of Canada. For existing customers, this will mean the availability of local access numbers during travel. All metropolitan areas are covered through the system as well as 95% of rural US households. Connections times should also improve with the use of Radius technology. All dial-up locations support 56K v.90 connections (or faster). Existing customers will be migrated to the new system in the coming weeks. New usernames may be required for some users; however, passwords, and email addresses should all remain the same. The www.WebPG.net website has a searchable listing of the new access numbers. WebPG will contact each of its dial-up users with transition information as the accounts are set up on the new system. The existing access system will be phased out by year-end. There will be no increase in price for unlimited* dial-up service using the national network. It will remain $19.95 per month, with discounted rates of $17.95 for 6-month prepay and $16.50 for yearly payment.
WebPG, Inc (dba The Web Presence Group) is a privately held California Corporation. No stock is publicly traded and this is to be considered neither an offer to sell nor a solicitation to purchase. *Usage in excess of 16 hours per day is considered dedicated access. |
